Object not placing into assembly
The firestop object I'm using does not let me place it in the wall/floor
When making BIM Objects you can make them as Face Based or Family Based objects depending on your use case. Face Based objects can be placed on any surface/assembly as they are built independent of a specific Family. This flexibility comes at a cost as it limits the functionality of the object and in the case of firestop solutions allows for misapplication. Family Based objects are limited to the specific family that they were designed for, such as walls, floors, or ceilings. This makes them more inflexible but allows for greater automation as well as prevents inappropriate placement.
STI's BIM Objects are all Family based, this enables their enhanced automation features such as dynamically adding extensions to our EZ-Path & Cast-in Device objects. Additionally, this prevents inappropriate placement in the model
