EZ-Path Series 44+ Modular Floor Grid System

ezdg844S2-2_3x

Description:

Modular Floor Grid Systems utilize the high volume, EZ-Path® Series 44+ pathways installed in banks of four to provide your cabling systems with room to grow. Sturdy steel grids mount one, two or four banks of pathways in built-in slots for a total of up to sixteen pathways through a single floor opening. A single bank floor grid comes complete with pathways. Multi-bank modular floor grids are installed with firestop panels sealing each slot. As additional cable capacity is required, firestop panels are removed and pathway modules containing four pathways are installed in each slot.

Advantages:

  • Highest cable density possible in a cabling floor penetration
  • Maximizes space used minimizing consumption of floor space
  • Add banks of devices as needed, no need to cut/core concrete to add additional pathways as capacity needs grow
  • Multiple grids can be connected using Splice plates allowing for long slot configurations along the face of a wall
    • This method is preferred by designers and IT teams as it allows easy access to cabling
  • Out of the box T-Rating solution using the TRK444 for single slot grid configurations
    • T-Ratings achievable with light density duct insulation for dual slot grid configurations
  • Heavy gauge steel used in design of grid frame to make it survive for the duration of the installation without compromise
    • Competing systems use lighter gauge steel that can be damaged by building occupants compromising integrity
  • Achieving L-Ratings even with a fully populated quad slot configuration

Disadvantages

  • Can be cumbersome to assemble for the inexperienced
  • SIL300 Silicone Sealant or Foil tape applied over gaps/seams in grid frame needed to achieve L-Ratings
  • Cost, a fully populated grid frame is a significant cost leading many Contractors to target it as something that can be Value Engineered out
