The all new SpecSeal® 8 Inch Cast-In Device from Specified Technologies Inc. delivers a fully integrated firestop solution with the trusted quality of STI. Built with rugged welded construction, the SpecSeal® 8-Inch CID is designed to withstand even the toughest job site conditions. Its smooth-surface design ensures optimal concrete flow, effectively filling corners and gaps for superior concrete bonding. The result? SpecSeal® 8 Inch Cast-In Devices are installed prior to concrete pouring, eliminating the need for specialized equipment for coring the concrete slab. Two versions of the device are available, covering a range of penetrant types, including plastic penetrants and insulated metallic penetrants (“P” Series) and metallic penetrants (“M” Series). Built-in intumescent material and a smoke seal impede the passage of fire and smoke. The device is tested per ASTM E814 (UL 1479), CAN/ULC S115, and ASTM D4833 (puncture resistance for OSHA requirements).
The large diameter devices feature a removable form, ensuring a clean, ready-to-use opening. With multiple height options to accommodate concrete thicknesses up to 14 inches—plus bi-directional installation capability —the SpecSeal® 8-Inch CID delivers a versatile, user-friendly solution for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors alike.
Both the plastic and metallic series devices are offered in five heights: 6 in (152 mm), 8 in (203 mm), 10 in (254 mm), 12 in (305 mm), and 14 in (356 mm), accommodating common concrete slab thicknesses.
